Empowering young people in order for them to be able to make informed choices, enabling them to reach their positive aims, objectives, social and personal development, regardless of their academic ability.

The R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Mentoring teams action team aims to each every social personal effect concerning teenagers. We aim to off a listening ear and support to teenagers who have an issue or multiple issues or barriers. Our main objective is for the team to identify and support the learner or young person, enabling them to resolve problems or potential problems that may be a barrier to their future development and advancement.

Through our group workshops and individual one to ones with learner / young person, we aim to increase their confidence, motivation and self worth. The process will include continued contact and support.

Our programme is interactive and visual, using role ply and drama to address real life situations that the learner / young person can relate.

All aspects on anti-social behaviour are addressed e.g. bullying, peer pressure, drug and alcohol miss-use within group work and talking solution workshops. This is achieved working within a group setting, small and large and on a one to one basic with a team member.

The second programme was targeted at young people who were not ready for work or training. The evidence was unquestionable and proved their issues and problems if not resolved at the earliest opportunity, affected not only their academic future, it also affected their personal and social development. By the time the young person asks for help the potential problem has more often than not become an actual problem. The evidence for this is also available and supported by other professional and voluntary organisations.

The mentoring team aims to work within the Tees Valley area in the familiar / safe environment of the learner / young person.
